We get this question a lot! Most patients are understandably quite eager to complete their orthodontic treatment as quickly as possible.
Dr Mehta will customise your treatment plan at your first consultation. We can then give you an estimated treatment time at this initial consultation. However, everyone has a different biological response to orthodontic treatment, so treatment times may differ from patient to patient.
Here are a few tips to help keep your orthodontic treatment on track and avoid delays in having your braces removed.
- Keep scheduled orthodontic appointments. Regular cancellations and rescheduling of appointments can result in a delayed treatment end date.
- When Dr Mehta requests you wear elastics or other orthodontic appliances, wearing them as requested is important. If you wear your elastics less than requested you can delay treatment time.
- Avoid damaging your braces. Constant breakages to your braces can result in teeth being uncontrolled and therefore delaying treatment time.
- Continue to see your general dentist regularly for check-ups and cleans. Clean and healthy teeth and gums ensure teeth can move easily.
If you have any questions or concerns throughout your treatment, Dr Mehta and all the staff are more than happy to help you with any questions you may have.
