Treatment time depends on the amount of orthodontic work required to achieve a successful outcome. Simple treatments may take a few months, however braces usually take 12-24 months to ensure the excellence of the final outcome – a beautiful smile, correct bite and correct positions of the roots of the teeth. These important details, along with appropriate retainers, improve the stability of the result achieved.

During the initial appointment, Dr Mehta will give advice on the treatment options available, when treatment should commence, the duration of treatment and approximate cost.

If it is too early to commence treatment, Dr Mehta may request regular review appointments until the appropriate time for treatment, at no additional cost to you. Unnecessary early treatment may create the appearance of a positive change but can be detrimental in the long-term and increase the duration of treatment and cost.
